Resilience and Bouncing Forward.
"What a great comeback. Arguably, one of the best FA Cup matches of all time - quoting the BBC, Sky Sports then "astonishing, amazing....the Sky Blues came roaring back..."
What do we learn from this match?
The need for a strong mentality and sense of self belief. Regardless of the score, there is always a way back into a game. But resilience requires a special mentality. A sense of never giving up. Change the game plan...but find a way. Coventry found that way and only the thinnest of offside margins denied the Sky Blues a memorable and deserved victory.
Scholars of the game talk about the need for both a strong mindset and bouncing back ability.
A strong mindset is required. A desire to never give up. But here at Vector, we do not talk about bouncing back but......bouncing forwards.
Bouncing Forwards is picking yourself up as a team, understanding what you need to change in an in-game situation, making and implementing those changes - for example, substitutions, on-pitch set-up, change of tactic - and then leaning forward into the opposition and the challenge. Look forward, never look back. Bounce forwards.
All here at Vector are very proud of the management and players at Coventry City. Play Up Sky Blues.
