The Course

The Elite Football Programme was launched in Coventry in September 2022 @ Coventry City Football Club.

The programme’s objective is clear: each student-athlete is encouraged and expected to progress through their performance levels towards an elite standard, with a focus on developing their technical, tactical, and football awareness to maximise their playing potential. Simultaneously, we work closely with each player to identify progression pathways and future opportunities, ensuring they can plan their next career and learning steps in football. With strong connections to professional football clubs, universities, and colleges, we provide pathways that allow players to excel both in football and education, advancing their careers. 

Our team includes experienced Premier League coaches, renowned strength and conditioning experts, and former players, delivering comprehensive technical, physical, and mental training. We leverage advanced technology to track and benchmark each player's progress, ensuring continual improvement.

Our programme aims to help student-athletes maximise their playing potential, develop technical and tactical skills, and prepare for elite performance levels. We also support players in mapping their next career and educational steps, creating opportunities to succeed both on and off the pitch.

The Team

Micky Adams (Pro Licence Coach) leads a team of UEFA - A, B and C qualified licenced coaches providing a professional and dynamic football programme. The training programme provides first class facilities for talented players creating a perfect environment for those wishing to be scouted to play professional football. The team includes:

Age

18- 23 years 

What is included

• Access to full time elite football programme
• Gym membership
• Football and training kit
• Sport therapists work with individual players to prevent injuries and assist with recovery from an injury.
• Match analysis reviews
• Nutrition advice with regards to the diet in order to maximise playing and training potential.
• Completion certificate awarded First XI Vector
• Optional - Single room with shared kitchen (self-catered)

Training

• Bespoke programmes linked closely to the coaching priorities and the development requirements of players.
• Each week will include a training, gym, and exercise schedule, complemented by individually tailored coaching interventions focusing on each player's technical, tactical, physical, social, and psychological development. 
• Strength and Conditioning - speed, strength and power, core flexibility, plyometrics, aerobic and anaerobic trainings.

Match Day Football

• Games will be scheduled throughout the season and will include fixtures against professional and semi- professional teams.
• Regular playing opportunities for the 1st team designed to deliver a balanced programme for player development and competition football.

Future Pathway

Our Performance Pathways provide a personalised target road map for each individual player if they are to successfully graduate as an elite performer.

Pro club staff and scouts from various clubs will regularly visit the programme, with First XI Vector supporting talented players in attending club trials.
